Journaling?

I know many of you are trying to back out of LJ for awhile. So, I don't know if anyone is actually reading what I'm writing or I'm just typing for my own benefit, but I do appreciate feedback. Are there other journaling options out there where ppl can read and give feedback? Thoughts?

Challenging myself and finding a cure for MS

A lot of people have asked me what they can do to help and I've been thinking about what I can do to help myself. So, I decided to tackle the Manhattan MS Walk next weekend (besides my mom said that it was too soon so I had something to prove). There's a 3 mile option and I figure that I'll do what I can. It is very late in the game to start fundraising, but I figured that some of you or people you know might be interested in supporting the effort.

If you'd like to help me challenge myself and find a cure for multiple sclerosis --> http://msnyc.kintera.org/walkms/Andamom

(Note: This is a personal decision and I won't know either way, but I appreciate all of your support.)

Andamom.com -- and where I am

Sorry I haven't done many updates of information here -- as you have probably noticed though -- I am posting seemingly daily on Andamom.com. So, if you want to read some of the things going on with me -- you'll just have to go there for now... I'm really just interested in giving this my all. And -- I am hopeful other people will be interested in posting there with me too.

We changed the banner at the top too and I'd like some feedback on it. What other advice or suggestions do you have for me?

-- FYI -- I am reading your journals here and will continue to reply.

The gallery show is open!

The artwork is now up at the gallery ...and the gallery website is updated: http://thecurbartspace.org/

If you have any recommendations on places I can announce it --or are interested in checking it out, please let me know!

(Side note: I am going to put photographs of my dad up at the gallery before the opening ... in addition to two small self-portraits...but I found some of him as a young guy --including I think his prom picture. My dad was really good looking way back when... I will try to scan them in the near future!)

Dabbawala

And then there were the Dabbawalas. I've met to write about how intriguing I find these individuals who deliver home food to Indian professionals at work. (A dabbawala (one who carries the box, sometimes spelled dabbawalla or dabbawallah, is a person in the Indian city of Mumbai whose job is to carry and deliver freshly made food from home in lunch boxes to office workers.) Somehow, they achieve six sigma without all of the computerized logistics systems...

My father's gallery show!

One of my dear husband's friends has arranged for my dad to have a gallery show in New York this Spring. It will be April 16 (Monday) until May 2 (Wednesday).  This is quite major, and I will be preparing for it. I received an email from the friend, but as he was here for dinner, we had the opportunity to discuss the myriad of things I need to do to get ready. When I have additional details, I will post them for you. However, if you are interested in learning more as it progresses, please also contact me.

The website will be enhanced to include measurements and additional details for each work. However, you can check it out now if you have not done so already: www.posnerart.com

*Note: I will post about personal things in a subsequent message, and get back to each of your emails soon!

My husband wants a roasting pan. The majority do not have lids --why is this? Should I get anodized non-stick --or is something better? Any suggestions?

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Bert

You scored 68% Organization, 58% abstract, and 62% extroverted!

This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.

You are very organized, both concrete and abstract, and both introverted and extroverted.

Here is why are you Bert.

You are both very organized. You almost always know where your belongings are and you prefer things neat. You may even enjoy cleaning and find it therapeutic. Bert is a big neat freak and gets quite annoyed when Ernie makes a big mess.

You both are sometimes concrete and sometimes abstract thinkers. Bert is probably a bit more concrete in his bottlecap collecting addiction and his love of the weather. He does show his abstract side when he sings and performs his "Doin' The Pidgeon" song. You have a good balance in your life. You know when to be logical at times, but you also aren't afraid to explore your dreams and desires... within limits of course.

You are both somewhat introverted. Bert is probably more introverted, because he spends most of his time either with Ernie or alone. Still he has no problem being around other people in his role as chairman of "The National Association of 'W' Lovers." Like Bert, you probably like to have some time to yourself, but you do appreciate spending time with your friends, and you aren't scared of social situations.

The other possible characters are

Oscar the Grouch

Big Bird

Snuffleupagus

Ernie

Elmo

Kermit the Frog

Grover

Cookie Monster

Guy Smiley

The Count

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback! Also if you want to tell me your favorite Sesame Street character, I can total them up and post them here. Perhaps your choice will win!
